crochet apron work in progress

I was checking out crocheted aprons and tried to find a pattern that was easy AND that I liked. no luck, so I'm trying to just make one. this is about 1/3 to 1/2 done and I am looking for comments. I promise I won't cry...just leave a comment - how you feel. would you wear it? give it as a gift? I'm thinking of putting a couple of rows of stripes across the bottom, or maybe just add more stitches to make if ruffly on the bottom. I'm open to suggestions.
maybe I'll have a give a way when I'm done....
thanks for checking it out

I know Deb at crochetoholic makes them. I crochet but never have tried an apron.....that being said, I think it is very pretty.
A little stripe might be nice but personally, I think just going to the end and working in a ruffly bottom would suffice!

Good work!

How gorgeous that is? Nice work.
The color is so yummy. I would leave the apron with the same color and add a ruffle bar around it in white?...Love rose and white.
One thing I would definately do is make a backing to support the weight of the crochet work, otherwise the weight of the work will make the apron to stretch. A nice backing from waist down would probably be helful to keep the shape : ).
I will keep you on my fav...this is a beautiful piece!

I agree with sewlittlethings, a nice sturdy backing would help the apron last longer and not stretch as much. I believe that that is what they do with crochet handbags. I would also put a backing on the waistband. That is where it will get lot of handling and use.

You are off to a great start! Love the pink! It's going to be fab when complete!!
My suggestion would be for the bottom to have a variegated striped ruffle to mirror the waistband. But then, I'm a ruffle girl.
I agree with the others, it most likely will need some nice soft cotton fabric for a backing to stabilize it.
Please post the finish apron on the Apronista for us all to see!
